The role of the immune system in autism and neurodevelopmental disorders; a focus on acute decline in behavior and cognition

Dr. Herbert Lachman

Researcher & Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York

Co-Founder, Neurogenomics Research Foundation (NRF24.ORG)

Webinar Description

A substantial fraction of children with autism spectrum disorder and neurodevelopmental disorders have a significant, rapid decline in behavior and cognitive ability characterized by obsessive compulsive disorder, catatonia, psychosis, anxiety, aggression, and loss of previously mastered skills and verbal communication. Some investigators attribute behavioral regression to neuroinflammation, an immune system dysregulation affecting the brain. A neuroinflammatory cause of regression is underdiagnosed, which is unfortunate, since immune suppressants could potentially help some children. In this webinar, Professor Herbert Lachman M.D. will discuss new research implicating certain genetic factors underlying regression, findings that could have therapeutic implications.

Why Attend?

This Events will bring together experts in neurogenomics to discuss the latest research and its potential to transform the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions. Whether you're a researcher, healthcare professional, or someone affected by these disorders, this event is designed to provide valuable insights and hope for the future.

Participation is free, but spots are limited! Register today to secure your place.

Optional Donations

While attendance is free, we greatly appreciate any optional donations to support the work of the Neurogenomics Research Foundation (NRF24). Your contributions will directly fund innovative research into the genetic foundations of neurological conditions, helping to advance treatments and improve lives.

MEET OUR BOARD'S MEDICAL DIRECTOR

We have the honor of having a great doctor, a world class researcher and an awesome human being guiding our efforts to fundraise for Geonomics research. Is a real pleasure to share efforts with someone who donates his time with full passion and expertise to give hope and help those that need it the most.
